A Babysitter's Translation Guide

I love the language of Paige! It is absolutely adorable, and I'll be so sad when she learns to say things the right way. She is twenty-one months old and has quite a list of words that she says. Here is a quick guide.
    • Peepa: Pizza
    • Dookie:  Cookie
    • Plip: Chip (sometimes when she wants chips she does say "chip" but about half the time she says plip)
    • Do: Juice (this actually applies to any beverage that isn't water or milk)
    • Wa-du: Water
    • Milt: Milk
    • Chin: Cheek
    • I want teeters: I want to brush my teeth (want is the most common word in her vocabulary)
    • Shim shu: Swim Suit
    • Batf: Bath
    • Tyoot: Cute
    • I want houd you: I want you to hold me (this one is pretty common among many children her age I think)
    • Day do: Thank you
    • Plop plop: Flip flop
    • Chee: Take my picture
    • Nate: Snake
    • Beebee: Baby
    • Bey Bey: Bey Blade
    • Nana: Banana
    • Nana: Brianna
    • Eeela: Eli
    • Paydz: Paige
    • Pay: Play
    • Peese: Please
    • Doddee: Doggy (this actually applies to any animal that she doesn't know the name of)
    • Sewal: Cereal
Chee!

Family Fun!

We've had lots of adventures in the last few months! Here is just a taste...

This is Eli at his kindergarten program. Very cute!

Brianna played soccer. If you asked her, she said she loved it. But she would often sit down in the middle of the field and pout because they wouldn't "share" the ball with her.

Eli played baseball again this year. He didn't get any hits this season. I think he was scared since it was machine pitch. He had fun anyway, and says he wants to do it again next year.

We all had fun watching Eli's games. Brianna had a friend that she would often play hide and seek with. Or Brianna would make faces at us.

Of course, Cameron has been taking the kids out critter hunting!

Brianna wasn't too enthusiastic about it at first...

But she warmed up to it.

Brianna doing a little dance while on a hike.

These next several pictures are from our camping trip. We went to Toroweap, which is on the Grand Canyon. I'm not sure why Paige is pouting in this picture.

But she is loving life in this one!

Here we all are!

And here are Cameron's feet right before he injures one of them. A couple of cactus spikes went right through his achilles tendon. It hurt him pretty bad, and he was a bit of a cripple for a couple of weeks.

We explored in the morning, and then sat in the shade during the hot afternoon.

The kids really had fun playing in the dirt.

And just lounging.

We hiked to some petroglyphs. They were pretty cool!

And on the way home the kids were very tired.

And dirty.

We went to Zion National park and found a swimming hole.

We had to give away Eli's lizard because the aquarium broke. The kids wanted to say goodbye to her first.

Brianna and Zena.

Paige loves smoothies!

I'm not sure why, but Eli came out one day wearing a swim suit, scarf, and hat.

These kids sure make life fun!
