We had an unexpected visit up to the northern part of Utah this last week. When we arrived at my brother's house, in Provo, Eli had to use the potty. He was amazed at the blue water in the toilet and after he went potty, he wanted to look at the blue water again. Imagine his surprise when the water was GREEN! He ran out to the other room to tell uncle Brent that he turned the water green! Less than five minutes later he said, "I need to go pee pee again!" So we went back into the bathroom, I sat him down on the potty and Eli said, "I'm going to turn it purple this time!"

That's so Bappy!
Do all two year olds make up words? For Eli, the word is Bappy. I really have no idea where he got it from. Maybe he heard it from someone else? Maybe he is trying to say something else that he just can't pronounce? Maybe he made it up entirely on his own? I don't know. He isn't very consistent in how he uses it. For example:
Mom: "Wow! That's pretty cool!"
Eli: "Yeah. It's bappy!"
Mom: "Eli! Why are you being mean to your sister?!"
Eli: "Because I'm bappy!"
Eli: "Because I'm bappy!"
Mom: "Oh Brianna! Why are you so sad?"
Eli: "Because she's bappy."
Eli: "Mom, I don't want to eat bappy. It's yucky!"
Eli: "Dad, you're so bappy!"
Eli: "I'm going to throw it to you! Don't Hug it!"
Mom: "Why not?"
Eli: " 'Cause I'm bappy!"
When I asked him what bappy means he said, "Umm.. Lilalaleth."
Will he always use the word bappy? Will it carry on to others and become a trend? After all, it is pretty bappy!

Recent Fun!
A new place opened up here called Creative Minds. We've already taken Eli there twice and he loves it! They have several miniature things to play with. For example, a miniature grocery store,
Please note how he stacked the groceries on top of the baby.
A miniature construction site,
A miniature volcano,
A miniature train set,
And all around fun!
They have some other things that Eli didn't seem too interested in yet. A pirate ship, a barn, a house, etc. I'm sure we'll take him again. He could play there completely content for HOURS!
We also just went up to see Cameron's family again. Cameron spent most of his time fishing, and he took Eli twice and Avery once. I think Avery must have been his lucky charm. The two biggest fish were caught while Avery was there. And they were only fishing for about 20 minutes!
In case anyone has a hankering for fish, we have about 12 trout in our freezer right now.
Look What I Can Do!
I am now six and a half months old! Wow! I'm growing so fast! Take a look at some of my new tricks!
I can sit up all by myself! For a while, I could only sit up if mom sat me down that way on the floor. But now I can do it all by myself. If I find an interesting toy to play with I'll often sit myself up so I can take a closer look!
I also like to get up on my hands and knees and rock back and forth. For the very first time yesterday I actually crawled just a little bit. Mom and dad were so proud!
I'm also really good at putting big brother's toys in my mouth. Mom has to watch me really carefully to make sure I don't get my hands on anything too small.

Summer Reading
At the library here, they had a summer reading program for the kids. If they read ten books every week they would get a prize, and there was also a different activity every week. We did things like make a bug house (every time we see something creepy crawly Eli wants to put it in his bug house), see a fire truck and get sprayed by the fire hose. There were some that we missed as well. They put on a puppet show by professional puppeteers, but it was the only one on a Wednesday, so when we arrived at the usual time on Thursday we found out that we missed it.
To end the summer reading program, there was a big swim party at the Washington Rec Center. The kids got in free and adults got in for a dollar. At first Eli was a little intimidated by all of the people there, but he soon found great joy in going down the kiddie slide over and over and over....
There was also a really big slide/tube there. Cameron took Eli down it once and he didn't seem too scared, but when we asked if he wanted to go down it again he said, "No! No! NOOOOOOOOO!"
Brianna really enjoyed the bouncers (I'm not really sure what they are actually called). She sat in them for about half an hour. Bouncing up and down... splashing in the water... turning herself in circles... and wildly giggling the whole time.

Happy 4th! Oh wait...
So... I'm a little behind in posting, but here goes. For the fourth of July we went to Cameron's parents house for a fun filled weekend. First on the agenda was a trip to the zoo.
Grammy Teena and Brianna at the zoo
Please note the very large snake.
After seeing these, Eli said, "When Eli was little, I used to play with Elephants!"
Resting! Aunt Holly, Eli, Uncle Brayden and cousin Avery
Eli really liked to see the "Big Kitties!"
And Brianna liked the zoo too.
When we left, we asked Eli what his favorite animal was and he said, "The train!"
Grandpa Juicy had a surprise for Eli when he arrived. A pool! And Avery brought her jump house, so we spent a good amount of time playing in the yard.
To celebrate the fourth, we went to the stadium of fire! It was amazing! We watched Carrie Underwood perform, saw the most amazing fireworks I've ever seen and heard several other amazing performers. But the star of the show was Avery with her cool dance moves.
Eli with Uncle Brayden. He thought his glasses were pretty cool, but was kind of afraid of the fireworks.
Brianna was enthralled by the fireworks. I thought she would scream with all the noise, but she didn't. She just stared in wonder!
We experimented with Brianna's curls a little!
Her very first time sitting in a Bumbo!
What fourth of July would be complete without a few sparklers?
Avery was a little better at it than Eli.
